Dear sport lovers!
Every year, at the beginning of April (at the closure of the skating season) Jesenice and Kranjska Gora become the scene for the competition of the best young figure skaters from all over the world. This year is going to be organised for the 23rd time.
The competition is hosted in Jesenice ice hall Podmežakla and has its roots from the year 1992. From then on it has grown to be one of the most important events in the framework of International Ice skating Union. It is rated immediately after senior and junior world championships.
Over 100 skaters (cadets, juniors and seniors) from all over the world compete for the Triglav Trophy every year. The competition is regularly attended by all important ice skating world powers (such us Japan, Korea, Russia, USA, Canada and all the European countries) with their young promising ice skaters.
Some of the biggest names of world ice skating have competed at the Jesenice ice ring. Many of them became important competitors later, in junior and senior classes, some of them European and World champions and even Olympic winners: Shizuka Arakawa, Stephane Lambiel, Yuna Kim, EvanLysacek, Rachael Flatt,…
